Activities

Spanish
classes:
Our organisation offers Spanish classes
for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels, for all volunteers. We consider
it necessary that you to know some Spanish, at least at a basic level in order
to enable you to have better communication with the children and adolescents.
However, it is up to you whether you want to take lessons. Spanish classes will be provided for 1-2 hours on a daily basis, depending on your length of stay with us. Please consult the link titled costs, to find out about the prices for Spanish classes.

Weaving classes:
These are provided
for all those volunteers who wish to know a
little bit more about our culture. Weaving is done by hand, using sheep and alpaca
wool. You can learn to make ponchos, blankets, quilts, bedspreads and many oher woollen articles. It is simple to do, and we have
lots of knowledge in the art of weaving that has been passed on to us by our ancestors.
Please consult the link titled costs, to find out about the price for weaving classes.
Free time:
After work, there are many places that you can
go to enjoy yourself, or perhaps to try some of our traditional
dishes. Huancayo has a whole range of bars and restaurants, and if the
volunteer wishes, someone
will introduce him or her to some of the places. It is
entirely up to the volunteer whether he or she
prefers to use their time going dancing, going to listen to local music, eating
out, or enjoying other attractions that the centre of the city has to offer.
