“We was working together, the children are very special they are happy learning
and we also learned from them. Tour to Huaytapallana is very amused; I recommend
to take your shoes and special clothes for the snow. I recommend everyone to work
with Peru Luz de Esperanza. Histories of my trip and my work are in my page web.”

“We were
here for almost 2 months and enjoyed our work here. We were teaching children and
their parents English and other relevant things. The projects of the organisation
are based on the wishes of the rural community around Huancayo. We like this method
of helping, because it's a bottom-up approach. We lived with the Peruvian family
who lead this organisation and that was a great experience too, to experience the
life of the people here. We are grateful for the love and friendship that all of
them gave us.”

I liked the food, claps for Eva; I liked
the "Ají de gallina". The children are very special, pleasant and enthusiastic.
The projects are very excellent and with many practical results, the people who
participate in the projects of Peru Luz de Esperanza are very pleasant, I think
that in general people have much potential to improve her economic/social situation
with the help of the projects of Peru Luz de Esperanza, my opinion is that the mothers
of Matapuquio have much motivation. I like much the time with Peru Luz de Esperanza
personally learned much Spanish, social and more, and have new friends of Peru.
I recommend to Peru Luz de Esperanza to other people because Peru Luz de Esperanza
is a very special organization: Unforgettable Welcome to this experience. Is a special
family and have good projects with the region people. The family is welcome very
special, specially….the barbecue For my, the contacts and the friendships with the
people of Ahuac, Matapuquio and Ñahuimpuquio were addition very special in my life.

“Rural places: Yes I enjoyed the work in the rural areas. I have traveled through
many urban places so it was a nice break for me and was very quiet and different
for me. I would recommend and promote work here to other people in the world. Loved
the children. They were all very enthusiastic and lived to learn. I enjoyed teaching
the mothers. They were all very grateful and understood how important it was to
learn English as well as other skills. I found it very interesting teaching both
children and their mothers as I got to know the families more and they got to trust
me which is essential for teaching their children. I think weaving is a great idea
for earning money for the mothers. Food was fantastic! No problems here no need
to improve. People in Huancayo and Chupaca were all very friendly and welcoming.
There are not too many Gringos here so for many I was quite interesting! But I had
no problems with the people here. Loved the family as very treated very well and
went out on many excursions into Huancayo as well as Huaytapallana! Cannot be any
more nice and helpful. Thank you for a very special experience. I enjoyed volunteering
here at Peru Luz de Esperanza. I loved working with the children to learn as they
loved to learn. I have had many experiences here which I will never forget. I would
recommend Peru Luz de Esperanza to other people as the work here is very important
and help is always needed. Keep up the good work!”

The classes are good The food was great and plenty. I loved the cooking of
Eva and Candy. The children of all the schools seem eager to learn, the schools
of Ahuac and Matapuquio are my favorites. I loved the experience of the Peruvian
campo. It was great to be able to learn about the lives of people in this area of
Peru.
Peru Luz de Esperanza of the work in the rural
places: Keep doing the things
PASPLE does now. The children need your help to enable a better future for them.
Please don’t forget that PASPLE is still a small organization and that the number
of volunteers is not always the same. When promising help to new schools you need
to be very sure that you do have the amount of people to do the work and that the
quality of the work at the existing places does not go down. People in Huancayo
and Chupaca are very friendly and helpful. The same holds for the rest of Peru.
I always felt safe walking in Chupaca and taking the taxi/combi.
About your work in Peru Luz de Esperanza:
I loved the experience of working with you (the family),
the kids and mothers of Matapuquio. I have learned a lot about life in Peru and
I can only hope that the kids have learned something from me as well. I would certainly
recommend PASPLE to other people. The main reason is because I have seen that the
organization does very good work and needs all the help they can get.
What it means for you Welcome to this unforgettable
experience?
The experience of working with
Peru Luz de Esperanza was fantastic. It was truly an unforgettable experience.

I really enjoyed the food Eva and Candy prepared for
us. It was good to taste so many Peruvian dishes. And the Chupaka bread…very nice.
There was always enough of everything, so keep it going like this! The children
were all very nice and warm to us. I liked their enthusiasm and their eagerness
to learn. Because I had no experience in teaching, I sometimes found it hard to
control them. Therefore, I was very happy with the assistance of Antonio, Nilton,
Elizabeth or Joanna. I think this assistance is very important for all the volunteers.
It was great to teach in such a beautiful environment. The view on Huaytapallana
was always beautiful and I liked the ride to the schools. I liked it that the people
were so kind and that there were no other ‘Gringo’s‘ around. The mothers found it
harder to learn English than the kids did. They were a bit slower in picking everything
up. But, there is also a big difference between the mothers. Therefore, it would
be good to split them up in two groups if possible. They enjoy learning things that
they can actually use in daily life, and it is also easier for them to learn things
that they use often. And all the things they learn have to be repeated regularly.
Because they don’t use it often, they will forget a lot. They were very nice to
us and always curious if they see you are a Gringo. I never felt unsafe in Chupaka,
which was very good.
About of the Work in Peru Luz de Esperanza:
I really learned
a lot during my stay with the organization and I hope the children and mothers also
learned a lot from me. I am glad I came to Peru Luz de Esperanza, because there
was such a lot of good work to do and the work was always appreciated. I enjoyed
the work, although it could be really busy sometimes. I especially liked it that
I could combine teaching with developing the curriculum. For me this combination
worked better than just teaching, but I’m sure this will be different for other
people. I like it that you ask people what they like to do, so they enjoy their
work as much as possible. Yes, I would certainly recommend Peru Luz de Esperanza
to other people. You are all so nice, that I really felt like living in a family
away from home. This feeling was so good! And you are all so enthusiastic about
your work, and it is really clear that the help of many volunteers is needed and
appreciated as well.
Family of Peru Luz de Esperanza:
What should I say about this…
I don’t think I ever met people warmer and lovelier than the Peru Luz de Esperanza
family. We are already missing you, and I feel really sad that Peru is so far away
from Holland that we cannot visit you regularly. In the month we stayed with you,
I really felt you were my family and I felt very well taken care of. I really admire
you for working so hard and always having time for all the volunteers and always
being nice for everyone. I’ll never forget you!!
What it means for you Welcome to this unforgettable
experience?
I really feel that I know Peru a lot better than
before I came to Chupaca. I don’t think there would be a better sentence than this
one to describe the work for Luz the Esperanza. It definitely was an unforgettable
experience, thank you so much for that!!!

I think the food was good. I
love the children very much and enjoyed teaching them. Did you like your voluntary
work in the rural places in the field (campo)? YES! we would do it again if we could.
Yes it is better than the city. About the people of Huancayo-Chupaca, Wonderful
and helpful at least the people we met. We did not get to know many people. We enjoyed
the teaching work very much even though we are not teachers by profession. I also
enjoyed the work of going to the mothers’ homes with Jhovana to teach hygiene and
first aid.
Would you recommend Peru Luz de Esperanza to other
people?
Yes, It is
a good place to volunteer and also a good place to live and to get to know other
volunteers from other places in the world The family of Peru Luz de Esperanza. The
whole family and those who helped like Jhovana and Antonio and Mozart were very
helpful and it was wonderful to spend time with them. I think it is important for
the volunteers to have Eva in the house so she can help them with any problem when
everyone else is gone. Andre is also important because children are a very important
part of the world! Thank you also to Nilton and Eli for looking after everyone.
Welcome to this unforgettable experience
.The experience was unforgettable for us
because we experienced it as a family and when we came back home we could share
it with our community. We got to know something about a totally different culture
and that was important for our family because our daughter is Peruvian. We would
love to do it again and we grew to love the children and parents that we met.

the food. Mostly
good The children of the schools they were friendly and eager to learn. The work
in the rural places, Yes I think what you are doing for the rural children is very
important. I don’t know very many people but mostly I think they are friendly and
helpful. They have hardships but they are patient and try to make the best of the
situation.
Would you recommend Peru Luz de Esperanza to other
people?
I would recommend
this work for others because it is useful to help the children and a good way to
learn about life in Peru. The family of Peru Luz de Esperanza, all of the family
are loving and helpful. Each one is important to help the volunteers and to help
the rural children. I felt very happy to be with all the family of Luz de Esperanza
and to be with the children and the neighbors at the schools. I learned to know
something of the life in Peru and to love the People that we met. I feel that my
knowledge has increased and my circle of friends is bigger.
What it means for you Welcome to this unforgettable
experience?
It was definitely a positive and growing
experience.

I really enjoyed my Spanish classes. I thought they were
very helpful and provided an excellent opportunity to ask questions about the language,
the culture, and general expressions. In general, I really liked the food. Of course,
there were some dishes (Mazamorra Morada) that were very different from what I am
used to and might take a little more time to get used to. But in general, it really
wasn’t that different from the food that I normally eat, except that it was twice
as much!! Oh my goodness. The children. I loved the children. They were so wonderful,
loving, intelligent, and welcoming. The excitement that they had for the school,
for the teachers, and even for me was inspiring. So often in America the children
don’t want to go to school and when they are there they don’t pay attention. But
here, you could tell they really wanted to learn and the only time they would misbehave
was when I wasn’t able to grab their attention because they were bored. I will always
remember the children and how wonderful they were. Please tell them that I think
of them often and that I miss them. I loved all of them. Every one of the principiantes
touched my heart. . Did you like your voluntary work in the rural places in the
field (campo)? Yes. I loved it. Even though the landscape was beautiful, the reason
why I really appreciated my experience in the field was because I was able to see
where these children live and how little they have. Seeing their houses really made
an impact with them, because 6 or 7 people would live in a these tiny houses with
only one light bulb. It was very humbling, but also inspiring. I would not have
changed anything. It was one of my favorite parts of the week. I thought everyone
was very friendly, and of course I enjoyed my time with Antonio and Jhovana. You
would recommend Peru Luz de Esperanza to other people, Why? Absolutely. First of
all, the program is such an amazing cause that it deserves as many people and help
as possible. Second of all, the children are so wonderful and deserving that I want
to help them all the time. Third, you guys are such amazing people that are doing
a wonderful thing for this community, you deserve help and I have already told people
about the program so that they can go to Peru to help you. I loved you all!! You
are such amazing people. Nilton, thank you for taking time to listen to my broken
Spanish and always trying to make me feel comfortable. It really meant a lot to
me. Elly, thank you for being such an inspiration. You always put others first and
it is obvious that you really care about the children, the mothers, and the families
in this program. Please tell Eva, Mozart, Hector, y Andre that I miss them and I
hope to see them again.
