Poverty
in Huancayo
General Information
In the years 80 and 90 the Peru suffered the abuse, the abuse of the terrorists
being fundamental cause of the delay in the town of Huancayo, there were many deaths
and the children were orphan for the murder of their parents. The biggest abuses
were in Ayacucho, Huancavelica and other towns of Huancayo. At the end of the 90
it finished the terrorism. The statistics point out that the poverty in the towns
of Huancayo is approximate of 70% it is shown the statistical charts.Huancayo has
the biggest number in rural communities of the Department of Junín.
According to data of the I.N.E.I. (National Institute of Statistic) the population
from Peru belongs to 25'662,000 inhabitants, of which 10'477,000 are smaller than
age,it is the 30% of the total.
Of the total of smaller than age, 68% is children and 32% they are adolescent. This
demonstrates us the significant importance of the population's group that demands
a convenient treatment of their problem, in principle to be human beings in process
of development that, they demand the full recognition of their rights and because,
also for the destination of our country will be in their hands. Today in day the
poverty of the towns of the valley of Huancayo it is enough with relationship to
the other departments, it is for it that we need a lot of help.
The most important indicators in the poverty are: the critical accumulation in the
housings, the desertion and the little attendance to work, the absence of services,
the malnutrition and the hunger, the social abuse and the psychological abuse.
The main causes of infantile death are the infections of the stomach and breathing,
both necessarily associated to the malnutrition.

Malnutrition:The chronic malnutrition in smaller than 5 years it affects 48%. The
main cause of the malnutrition is the hunger and the poverty, also existing other
factors like: the lack of information and the erroneous beliefs on the nutritious
qualities of certain products, it is for this reason the importance of the campaigns
of health that we will carry out with the voluntary support.

Illiteracy:
Three of each four
illiterates are women, and these for the girl's smaller cultural valuation, and
overalls for the ignorance of the woman's rights.

School Desertion:
The lack of money of the family, the lack of the parents' opportunities, forces
the children to leave the school. A good number comes out to work to the fields.
Some are devoted to the mendicity and the leisure. The malnutrition also influences
directly in the school desertion: the children in that state don't register the
appropriate yield and they abandon the school.

Challenges:
1.
to sensitize to the Peruvian society in their group on the problem that affects
to the childhood and adolescence.
2. to complete a vital list in the construction of a culture of
respect and good treatment of our childhood and adolescence.
3. to be identified by the population like the space to which the
own children and adolescents can go; their relatives, and any person that knows
of a situation or problem that it attempts against the rights of the children, girls
and adolescents.
4. to achieve that the volunteering is converted and to a future
like strategic ally of the Boy's Defensoría and of the Adolescent, without transforming
it into the only support of its operation.
